Re-Wear for Refugees

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maggie Shields. I am a junior in high school from Balitmore, Maryland but I go to a boarding school in Milton, MA. I recently met Jordan Hattar, the founder of help4refugees.org, and he inspired me to try to make a difference. With the help of Natasha Roy, we have created an initive to raise money to help Jordan locate and give medical attention to kids in need on the Syrian boarder. We plan to withdraw the donations after boat dance (May 13), and donate it to help4refugees.org. Here is our idea:

We want to fundraise for Jordan Hattar's initiative and help out Syrian refugees. Milton is a very privileged campus, and with boat dance around the corner we know that students here are going to spend a lot of money on the dance. Even though boat dance is less than 3 weeks away, we are hoping that students will sacrifice some of the money they would have spent on dresses/shoes/jewelry etc. to instead donate to Jordan’s cause. With enough money, Milton students can fund an entire housing unit for a family in need. Even if we only raise enough money to help one person, we will be changing his/her life, and that is worth it.

If you have already bought dresses or shoes, you can help by offering your clothing for other people to borrow or by donating even a little bit of money. You don’t necessarily have to re-wear a whole outfit, but even you re-wear/borrow, say, a pair of shoes/a necklace etc., you can still put that money into helping people in need.

Remember, any donation counts!
