Hello,

This is Rebecca Kidder, 8th degree black belt in a Japanese martial art, Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. I've been training since 1998.

As a female martial artist in a world of men, it's important to stay motivated, strong, passionate and constantly learning and improving. One of the keys to that, for me and other women in the Bujinkan, is to attend seminars taught by the top-ranked women in our art.

There are about 20 women ranked as judgodans (15th degree black belts) internationally, from the US, Australia and mostly in Europe (UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, and Italy). They have all agreed to teach at an international event here in San Francisco in September 2016, without compensation. The fees from the event will pay for their flights, hotel, food, etc,.

This is an amazing opportunity for women around the world to be exposed to these instructors, meet other women that train (there are usually no more than 1-2 per dojo), make connections and simply train. Men are also welcome to attend, and are excited about the chance to train with so many famous instructors in one weekend. The event is planned, see www.bujinkankunoichi.com

Unfortunately, many people want to attend, but are having trouble raising the funds and registering. I (personally) am on the hook to pay the hotel in advance for rooms and food, as well as book instructor flights from around the world, and otherwise make sure all the plans are made and people are paid to run the event. I am hoping to have the event filmed and create a DVD, but that will depend on funds as well.

Enough people (both men and women) have registered that I do not want to cancel. We are at a cross-roads where we need to raise some money to ensure the event is a success. Kunoichi TaiKai is a non-profit in the US and any donations will be tax-deductible. I can provide receipts on request.  This event is not for profit; any proceeds will go towards making a Dvd to share with others, or sponsoring women to attend who apply for scholarship.

Please, support women in martial arts. Those of us who become teachers host women's self-defense programs for the public, as well as demonstrate the power and strength of women in the world. I am so passionate about this project and want it to be a success, but I can't afford to fund it personally.

Anything/everything helps, and thank you in advance.
