My name is Vernon Kirk Hinote - I go by Kirk.I am Kaylene's uncle and I live in Florida.
This fundraiser is for 7 year old Kaylene's medical expenses. She was diagnosed in March of 2014 with Nephrotic Syndrome. Her kidneys are NOT filtering out the proteins her body needs to survive. She has been hospitalized and medicated several times in an effort help her kidneys work, but no real progress has been made. She has had three relapses and underwent a kidney biopsy. She has been in and out of hospital and has been placed on a permanent treatment.
The possible complications from her condition include the following:
Acute kidney failure
Atherosclerosis and related heart diseases
Chronic kidney disease
Fluid overload, congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema
Infections, including pneumococcal pneumonia
Malnutrition
Renal vein thrombosis
This will help pay for her treatment and appliances.

Kaylene's parents are both LEO's (Law Enforcement Officers) in South Africa and are great people. I am doing what I can to help these good people treat and save their daughter's life. Having lost a child myself, I know the pain of loosing one.
