Haley’s healing journey

As many of you do know I welcomed baby Nolan into this world at 11:01am on Thursday August 9,2018 via C-Section which was not the plan but atleast he’s here. After almost 28 hours of labor I didn’t care what we had to do to get him here! Baby is doing absolutely perfect but Mom on the other hand not so much! After Nolan had arrived it started out rough by not being able to control my left foot/ankle which delayed me being able to do a few things every new Mom should be able to do. We were discharged on Saturday August 11, 2018 and by no means were ready to leave the hospital. Thank god for my mom being at the house because I wouldn’t have been able to do anything without her. I still to this day have not been able to stand and rock my baby boy. My foot was in some serious pain so I had a friend drive me to the emergency room on Tuesday August 14, 2018 where they proceeded to check my leg for a blood clot & thankfully there wasn’t one there. I was sent away being told “it’ll get better in time” even though I could not walk without a walker at this point. As we were discharged the hospital set up an appointment to follow up Wednesday August 15, 2018 as I arrived at my appointment I was told they had no records of me having an appointment but at that time I requested to be seen. My provider was already gone for the day and there was nobody else who could see me. I reported some issues that I was VERY concerned about and I was told to go to the ER (again) so I did just that the next day, I let them know about the chills, the fevers even those documented, the loss of appetite but it just did not seem to make a difference. While I was at my doctors office they had scheduled me an appointment for Friday August 17, 2018 at 11:15am. On 8-16-18 the emergency room just changed out what is called a wound vac and sent me on my way due to the fact I was going to be seen the next day. I cried and NEEDED to be heard but was still sent away! So on Friday 8-17-18 as soon as the doctors office opened I called to let them know what happened at the ER and that I needed to be seen immediately! I was told to come to the hospital to see my doctor because she was “busy” that morning. As I waited to be seen I was told when she seen my color I was going to be admitted. The infection had gotten so bad it almost reached my intestines! I was rushed into emergency surgery that day following a second emergency surgery on Sunday. I had to be put under anesthetic and be put on a ventilator, not once but three times now trying to get this wound and infection under control. I am going to be in the hospital atleast another week which is causing so much emotional damage having to be away from my baby boy! No mother should ever have to go through what I’ve gone through! My time has been very limited with my son, even when he’s around it’s hard to do anything with him due to the inability to move around and meet his needs. I am going to have to go to wound care for several weeks, possibly months until we can treat this wound that is going to have to heal from the inside out. I hate to even ask for anything but I am going to be out of work for awhile and am going to have a hard time keeping up on my car payment as well as gas having to visit wound care 2-3 times a week which is a 45 minute drive away from home. This is the hardest time of my life which should be one of the best! I am trying my best to stay strong and stay positive so I can heal and get better so I can get home to my seeet baby boy!
