Dance in the Rain Peer to Peer Mental Health fills a vital gap in the existing mental health system. The need for a continuum of care and support for people with mental health disorders.
Within our society today it seems quick solutions are often taken. When it comes to mental health, fast aren't the solutions. All of us need time to be heard and time to express and process the nightmare of emotions and thoughts that regularly go through our minds. We need to process these without fear and judgement and without the fear of being thrown into the cycle of the mental health system and be demoralized. We need to be uplifted by the successes, experiences, and knowledge of our peers on a regular basis for healing and growth.
Dance in the Rain offers a place of ongoing peer engagement and support. It breaks the devestating cycling of isolation many experience. Mental Illness is a lonley and frightening diagnosis. At Dance in the Rain friendship, hope and healing is fostered.
To keep our autonomy we raise all of our own funds. Everyone at Dance in the Rain lives with a mental health diagnosis. All of our programs are organically developed through the knowledge gained by our experience making our programming unique and healing.
Dance in the Rain opened it's doors in December of 2014. We have and do bring hope and healing to many peers in our community. This year we are struggling to keep our doors open. Your donations will go directly toward our operating costs.
Currently, as of March 2018 we have approximately 2-3 months of funding left to keep our doors open so our needs are urgent.

Dance in the Rain Peer to Peer Mental Health is on the frontline working with people. Many have not only mental health issues but are also dealing with alcoholism, drug issues and homelessness.
We offer a safe place with empathy and understanding at its deepest level.
