Wanda's Relocation Fund
While her two children have moved out of state, she remains in Baltimore, MD without a strong support system. Because of this, I am hoping to assist her in moving closer to me where I can help to take care of her, helping her to run errands and giving her the comfort of being near to family and support. We plan to go down to Baltimore to pack her things up and bring her home.
I am located on the New Jersey shore and make my living as a farmer. While I am able to support myself, I do not have the income or savings that would allow for me to fund the expensive move up from Maryland. It's times like these that I wish I had chosen a different career, but it is my hope that some people out there that know what it's like to get a raw deal as far as their health is concerned will feel compelled to help my mother in this small but profound way. All she needs is a jumpstart and she'll take it from there. She's tougher than she knows.
All funds raised will go towards moving costs and a partial security deposit on a small, single bedroom apartment near Middletown, NJ for Wanda Lewis.
Thank you for your time, consideration and kindness.
My boyfriend Neil and I moved my mother up to NJ in August. She stayed with us for a a few weeks, helping with light farm duties while we looked for a modest apartment for her near to the farm. That proved to be a tall order, as our part of NJ is pretty nice and close to the city. We have lots of commuters so the cost of apartments is a bit higher than in other areas.
But we kept looking and eventually found a small bungalow in Highlands overlooking the bay. It's small, but quiet and on a safe street. It has a small shaded back patio set into the hill and best of all, it's only 5 minutes from the farm. Once my mother is all unpacked and settled in, we'll share another update with pictures.
Thanks again for all of your kindness and generosity!
"There are no words to describe what a thoughtful and loving daughter I have worrying about me, She has enough on her plate. I am so amazed that people are willing to help that don't even know me! Over the last several weeks I saw no light at the end of the tunnel. I must say everyone has opened my eyes. I wish I had something to give to show my heart felt thanks. May your Higher Power answer your prayers, the way you have answered mine.
