6 TALENTED CHEFS FROM SPAIN, PORTUGAL AND PANAMA DELVING INTO THE PANAMANIAN JUNGLE FOR 4 DAYS IN AUGUST 2018 TO SURVIVE ON WHAT THEY FIND IN NATURE.

I am Chef Mikel de Luis.  I met Chef Andres Morataya earlier this year and was electrified by the concept of his destination restaurant, Panga, in Playa Venao (Panama).  It embodied sustainability, reliance on local people to supply him and inspired me to want to share his culture with my own, through cuisine, which impassions me. 

After talking with Andres,  we decided to create PANGA IBERICA as a "workshop in the wild" where Chefs from different countries could share ideas, recipes and visions through their adventures.

We will make a documentary that shows how we got through the 2 days, our highs and lows and the idea is to unite the culinary world in
underscoring sustainability and the respect for nature.  

CarbonFund Org has agreed to make our project carbon-neutral and we thank them for this. 


After the jungle, we Chefs will hold an informal beach party to celebrate local fishermen and farmers, Sustainability.  

The culmination will be a dinner at PANGA where all the chefs will collaborate, bringing together the combined knowledge of what we've learned in the days spent foraging the forests and waters.

October 3 the documentary premiere will take place at the Cervantes Institute in New York City.  Should you choose to join us, you will have the 
opportunity to meet some of these chefs who have embarked on this amazing adventure. 


For myself and for many of us Chefs impassioned by food, this is a dream come true.  To be able to share our passions and learn about new cultures and ways of working with food directly in nature, is what we continually strive for.

This campaign will fund the chefs to go to Panama from the Jungle to cooking at Panga Restaurant as well as to fund making the documentary. 
This isn't a reality show, it is about real life and achieving peace and enlightenment through COOKING.
