The Sylvania STEM center is a innovative and forward thinking organization that teaches kids in grades 1-12 about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through exploration and experimentation, in fun, creative and exciting ways. Recently, our FIRST Robotics Competition Team 7460 won the Rookie All-star Award and earned an advancement to go to the FIRST World Championship in Detroit. They will be representing the Sylvania STEM Center and many area schools while competing against teams from all over the world.
FIRST is More Than Robots. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) participation is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance their 21st century work-life skills. In 2019, FIRST participants are eligible for over 800 Million in college scholarships! It’s not just about building robots; soft skills are also covered with FIRST core values:
Discovery: We explore new skills and ideas.
Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
Impact: We apply what we learn to improve our world.
Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.
Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.
Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do!
For our team to participate in this amazing and prestigious competition, we need assistance. We are very appreciative of any donation to help us reach our goal of $7000.00, to cover the cost of competition. Donations are tax deductible and will be helping kids right here in your local community. Additionally, your sponsorship will be printed on a banner that is displayed at the competition.
