-You know, I've been debating for weeks if I really wanted to make one of these..because I hate asking for help...but this time around has been tough & definitely harder than the first time I went through this 5 years ago..maybe because I forgot what it felt like to be this sick or it’s because I now have 2 children that I need to make time for...but This time we have to drive 30 minutes(sometimes 40 if we have to go to Milwaukee) to and from the hospital everyday, 5 days in a row for one treatment..an infusion of Irinotecan each day..we have an suv (easiest with 2 Kids) and the gas isn’t cheap..what we’d really need help with is help with gas to get us from point A to point B and MOST IMPORTANTLY, money for bills, since my husband isn’t working as much due to needing to help me & watch the girls since I can’t stand longer than maybe 5 minutes, we’re really falling behind on paying them..
And I don’t know how often you’re in the hospital but getting snacks/beverages in there adds up as well. The whole reason we’re going through all of this is because in 2011..2 weeks after my 21st birthday, I found a tumor in my chest, which turned out to be a rare form of bone cancer called High grade Ewing’s Sarcoma of the chest wall...come to find out it was the size of a cantaloupe..I underwent 17 rounds of chemotherapy, 6 weeks of Radiation and also had a surgery where they removed 2% of my lung, 3% of my diaphragm and 3 and a half ribs..I was almost in remission 5 years until I had my routine ct scan in February 2017 (2 months after my daughter was born) and they saw a small spot on the back of my right lung...same side the cancer was in the first time, just on the back of it near my spine this time, in May I had another scan and the spot grew..I had surgery to remove the spot a few days later by having a wedge resection, which is where they wedge your ribs open, deflate your lung, remove the cancerous spot then reinflate my lung and it was confirmed a few days later that I had relapsed and my cancer had metastasized to my lung. When this type of cancer spreads to your lungs..it’ll keep trying to come back....no matter what. So I found out in July that with doing treatments again I’ll only have a 20-30% of surviving this..I just turned 27 in July and I plan on being in that 20-30% and enjoying even more birthdays with my family. So all the help would greatly be appreciated..not only would it take a little weight off my shoulders but my husbands as well who has been there for me every single day.❤️
If you have the time; please take it to watch this short video of my story...it was so beautifully made..I can’t thank the makers of it enough..such beautiful souls

With needing the stem cell transplant and it kind of being my last option, I’ll be in the hospital about a month and then we’ll have to drove to the hospital in Milwaukee 2-3 times a week to meet with the drs to match sure everything’s going okay so saving up for Mays rent and June’s rent might be difficult on top of gas to get to and from and also our truck payment, etc. finances are stressful and I never knew how stressful they could be until I got this sick...with 2 kids. It’s really taking a toll on me emotionally. Please share and donate if you can! ❤️

-I’ve been keeping a secret for a little bit now!!
We found out on April 25th, the same day my baby nephew entered the world, that my PET scan was stable and I’m able to proceed with the bone marrow/stem cell transplant AND that my big brother is my donor!!!!!!! He’s the one that I was praying would be my donor and he is! To say the least, the 25th was a very emotional day!
I’ll have a bunch of tests done this month still..Tomorrow, May 23, I’ll be having the procedure to get my port taken out and also to sign some consent forms...I’ll be admitted into the hospital June 1st to start the intense chemo for 5 days and will also be the day they insert my picc line..on June 6th I’ll receive the full body radiation and then The transplant is on the 7th and I’ll get more of my brothers cells on the 14th! Then I’ll be monitored and be put on anti-rejection meds until I get the A-Okay to leave the hospital which is estimated to be about a month!!!
So excited but nervous. Now, let’s just pray that it works and that everything goes smoothly for both me and my brother!
All I can ask for is donations so that it’ll take some weight off our shoulders the month of June/July since my husband will be needing to take off of work to help take care of me..I’ll need a care giver with me 24/7 the first 30 days out of the hospital. Any help would be soooo much appreciated in this time of need❤️❤️
Thank you everyone for all the sharing of my story and for the support and donations. Couldn’t do it without everyone!!!

-Sorry I haven’t Updated this in awhile! I was on the break from chemo since January so there wasn’t anything really new going on. I had my 2 months check up scan last week Monday and met with my oncologist on Thursday...We found out that there are 4 new spots on my left lung now..none no longer on my right..they’re relatively small spots with one being bigger than the rest but since they’re so small..my next scans would be in June..It seemed like the drs were a tad disappointed that I turned down the stem cell transplant after visiting with that dr in January because of it possibly spreading..
Well I called and scheduled an appointment with the transplant dr The next morning because I feel like I no longer have a choice and have to get on top of it before the cancer spreads out of control!
I met with the dr yesterday to sign the paperwork and for them to hopefully get approval from my insurance. If my insurance denies it, I won’t Be able to get the study done and be out of options.. and the only other way I’d be able to get it is if we have all the money to pay for the study (about $170,000) in an account to pay for it so We’re praying I get approval and the drs are hopeful I will so they’re sending out a kit to me for my samples and also sending my siblings one as well so that they can compare to see who can be my donor..which they only have to match 50%. I’ve chose to get the transplant done in May, after my baby nephew is born so I can see his birth and so that my sister can help out with the baby and Greg can stay there so that he’s closer to me!
Please please find it in your heart to share so we can get more Donations because Greg’s working as much as he can for all of Mays bills but I don’t think we’ll be able to save up to pay rent that month in only a month! Plus once I’m released from the hospital, we’ll have to make 2-3 trips down to froedtert each week to make sure my bodies handling the transplant well and the medications are doing what they’re supposed to....So please continue to share this link and help us get all the help we can while I’m hospitalized and in isolation for the month & after !!❤️❤️ thank you so much! It means so much to us❤️ and we’re so grateful for what’s been donated so far..you’re all incredible individuals.❤️

-Last week Sunday, the 14th I went to the Er with right arm pain..2 days prior to that I noticed a blistery/bloody infection forming underneath my right breast but shrugged it off and figured I’d make a doctors appointment with my family doctor late Monday or Tuesday and save an er trip. I was making Mac and cheese Sunday night and when I was stirring it, I could barely move my arm anymore so thankfully my husband was off work and suggested we go to the Er to get checked. We went right away and before they could do my scan or give me pain medicine, they had to get an iv going...for some reason they couldn’t get a blood return from my port so as I’m already in pain, they poke my chest 4x trying to get a blood return without luck so they ended up putting an iv in my hand and in the bend of my arm. Anyway, they gave me a ct scan and about an hour or two later the Er doctors came in and said my right arm pain is most likely muscular but that my left side wasnt clear and that I had blood clots in my lung so I was immediately at admitted to stay for a few days and they immediately started blood thinner injections in my belly twice a day and got started on an antibiotic for the infection forming under my breast. The doctors told us how lucky we were to come in when we did and that we didn’t wait until I could see my family doctor because I could’ve went into cardiac arrest by then considering my resting heart rate was mid 140s. I was discharged Wednesday and been resting since then. Yesterday I was thankfully able to get off the injections and put on oral blood thinners twice a day..Day by Day I’m getting better.
My oncologist and I did agree that my body needs s break so I will be watched very closely these next few months but will discontinue anymore chemotherapy until further notice..
Please continue to prayer. We appreciate everyone more than you’ll ever know❤️❤️

-My family and I are getting extremely excited for this round to be over on Saturday and for Monday, the 8th to come because that’s when I get to meet with a stem cell transplant team down at froedtert in Milwaukee to see if that’s the next route to take..especially since this chemo is just draining me. I’m just anxious to see if the transplant is the right thing to do right now or if I’d rather wait a while to get the transplant until my oldest daughters out of school for summer break so she isn’t coming home with as many germs and isn’t around as many kids to possibly bring something home.
Please keep up the prayers..We appreciate them so much..
Also , I have been selling shirts that say ‘hope for heather’ on the front and ‘she CANCERVIVE on the back..if you’re interested, please feel free to contact me on Facebook! There’s only 12 left!!
Thank you so much and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and new year like we did..we were absolutely blessed beyond imaginable..attached is just a picture of me from my treatment earlier today
