Young disabled woman needs a car

Donation protected
Kathleen is a 27 year old disabled woman who would like to buy a car.  A year ago, we moved to a small piece of property in the middle of the prairie grasslands. At the time of the move she had a car and was looking for work . The nearest town to where we now live is 26 miles away. Unfortunately an accident that was not her fault totalled her only car.  A teenage driver came to a complete stop on a major highway to avoid hitting a dog who had run on to the road.  Unfortunately when the brakes were applied, the car skidded several feet and slammed into the back of the stopped car. Fortunately the airbag deployed so no one suffered serious injury. While the insurance covered the loan still due on the car and all the medical bills, there was not enough money to purchase another car for Kathleen (Kat to those who know and love her). Without transportation, she had to stop looking for work.  While she does receive a small amount of money each month from disability there is nothing left at the end of the month by the time she pays her bills and buys food for the month thus there is nothing left for any extras. While Kat lives with her parents, they are disabled as well. Her father is a 100% disabled veteran and gets by on disability benefits.  Kats mother is also disabled, battling cancer that has spread to her bones and lungs.  To make things worse her mother broke her back 2 months ago in two places. A previous spinal fusion failed causing the two fractures and resulting in surgery to fuse most of the spine.  Because of the added complications of receiving chemotherapy treatment for her cancer, her moms recovery from the surgery has been slow and expensive.  Because the family lives solely off of disability benefits, there is no way for the family to secure funding for Kat to purchase a new car. Kat is the type of person that would give you her last piece of clothing if it meant a better life for that person even if it would mean that Kat herself would have to do without.  We have watched this kind, gentle, good hearted young lady become increasingly depressed because she is not able to work right now nor is she able to socialize with people due to the distance into town. She used to do volunteer work at a hospital and also at the Butterfly Pavilion but she has had to give all of this up because of lack of transportation.  Public transit does not come where we live. We are not asking for the money to buy a brand new car, we are just asking for enough to get a decent second hand car that she can drive the 26 miles to the nearest town to get some work. Again, tragedy has hit this beautiful young lady. Now on top of all the other things that she has had to deal with, she lost her family beagle, Rebel. Rebel began swelling up with fluid and was rushed to the local veterinary hospital. He was diagnosed with a hepatic tumor and the family was told that we would have about two weeks left with him. Within two DAYS he had to be put down because he couldn't breathe. This poor young woman has been through so much this last year. PLEASE won't you consider making even a small donation to help her with her goal of buying a car do that she can get around and out among people again? Any help would be truly truly appreciated. PLEASE consider helping this beautiful, kind hearted young woman buy a second hand car?  Thank you so much for your consideration.
