New Sign for Gordon Dufoe Park

My Grandfather was the well known painter Gordon Dufoe from Mattawa, Ontario.  The town of Mattawa established a park in his honour many years ago, however, the park sign is not the befitting tribute it should be for a man who had such a huge impact on his community. My father, Don Dufoe, is suffering from Stage 4 Colon Cancer, and his prognosis is not good. I would love for my dad to see a new, beautiful sign erected at the park before his passing. I would also like to have a dedication bench placed in the park with the names of all of Gordon Dufoe's children. The Mattawa City Council has been very supportive of my endeavour, and is in full agreement with replacing the sign, and adding a dedication bench. They have quoted a cost of $2000 for the project. The new sign will have one of Gordon's painting superimposed on the background, and will be made to withstand the test of time. 

We tend to take our families for granted, and my father's disease has made me realize how much he means to me, and how much Mattawa means to the entire Dufoe family. Nothing would make me happier than to see him witness the unveiling of a new sign dedicated to his father, and I would love for him to be able to sit on a bench that has been forever dedicated to him, and his siblings. 

Given my dad's poor prognosis I'm hoping to have the funds raised by the spring in order to get this project going as quickly as possible. I would truly appreciate any donation amount to help raise money for this project. Thank you so much!
