Mini Ride for RoswellDECA Nationals

In April 2016 we will be representing Grand Island High School and the Ride for Roswell at the International DECA Competition in Nashville Tenessee.
Our team developed a 30 page businsess plan and the Mini Ride For Roswell Tricycle Race at our Middle Schools Family Fun Night. In a few short hours we were able to raise $500 for the Ride for Roswell.
Our plan is to expand our project to the 3 other Grand Island Central Elementary schools during the next school year and to offer a plan to other local schools if they are interested in running their own Mini Rides. This offers students an opportunity to raise their own funds and bring along their freinds for the Ride.
The Mini Ride for Roswell was inspired by 9 year old Luke Gworek who has been battling cancer since 2013. Team Luke was created for the Ride for Roswell in 2014 and in 2 short years has raised $38,000 for Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
The money raised is used towards ongoing research and patient care programs. Since the Rides incepetion 20 years ago it has raised 34 Millon Dollars.
Will you help us reach Nashville? It costs $1000 per student to attend this event. We will be 1 of 200 other teams competing on an international stage representing the Ride for Roswell and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. We are so excited for this opportunity. We are so grateful for any donation.
Another fun fact is that our team continues to make history at Grand Island Central . In 2015 we were the first 8th grade students for Grand Island to qualify for NY state DECA competition. In 2016 we were the 1st team ever to earn a bid at the National DECA competition for a community service project/ business plan and we are the 1st freshman ever to qualify Nationals .
