Yeo Stained Glass Preservation

Donation protected
This beautiful medieval Stained Glass window is situated in Petrockstowe Church, North Devon. It is close to the Yeo Ancestral home of Heanton Sachville (now The Clinton Estate) and  bore witness to the marriages of the Yeo's to The  Rolle's, Granvilles, Brightley's, Pyne's and Jewe's.
The window itself bears the coat of arms of William Yeo of Heanton Sachville.
William married Ann Esse in this church in the early 1340's, later William was knighted by King Edward III in 1346, The king referred to William as "my beloved one"  due to his  bravery in the Battle of Crecy.
William was granted the coat of arms for his loyality to the crown.
Subsequently William became Sheriff of Devon in 1359.

In order to preserve this window and its historical value it is necessary to relocate the window inside the Church. The glass itself is now in a fragile state and will be lost to the English climate if we do not take action now. The plan is to box frame the window itself and light from the back so its glory will be there for future generations to see.
