The thought of having to set up this page is something we never imagined we would ever have to do.
Nikki was in a serious car accident in Italy in March. The driver mounted the payment, hitting her and putting her into an induced coma for 5 weeks. We did not know if she would wake up and if she did what mental state she would be in. It was a living nightmare and so hard not knowing what was going to happen.
At the moment she is in rehab and can only stay in the hospital until the 14th August. It will then be decided if she will stay in Italy or can come home. We are doing everything we can to get her back to the UK but without travel insurance, the medical bills from the hospital and the possibility of having to be accompanied with a nurse or doctor on the plane home we are unable to do this on our own.
She desperately wants to come home and there is a place for her at the Astley Ainslie hospital, we just need to put everything into place and raise the funds to make this happen. We never thought we would ever have to rely on other people but we just want to do everything we can for her and so many people have been asking to help.
Nikki has always been a fighter and she continues improving every single day. But she needs to be surrounded by her friends and family at this time. It has been so difficult seeing Nikki go through this but we are looking forward and are so positive and happy with the progress she has made so far.
