My sister-in-law, Amanda Coleman, lost her valient 9-month battle with cancer a week ago. Amanda, only 36 years old, was the loving mother of Lilah (4), Kieran (3) and Luke (18 mos).
Diagnosed with advanced melanoma last October, Amanda immediately began treatments, with her main concern always the well being of her three children. Along with radiation and immunotherapy treatments, Amanda also had open heart surgery, followed 3 weeks later by the removal of her cancer ridden femur. She never complained.
Aside from babysitting, my brother Rich has never asked for help. In the past few days he has assured me he and his family will be fine. Many have asked to help, but he has brushed them aside.
Without his knowledge, I hope to raise $15,000 per child to put towards opening a 529 fund for their future college education.
