Amari Transition Home

Donation protected
Amari Uganda Transition Home was set up so that when the Amari staff find children living on the streets who are particularly vulnerable, or don’t seem to be coping as well as others they have somewhere to take them. The home provides food, beds, facilities etc as well as a safe, warm friendly atmosphere where the children live while the staff investigate their past and try to find relatives or a family friend willing to take the child back to live with them in a family environment, rather than an institution. Amari pays the foster carers for the child’s schooling and daily needs. If no one can be found then the child will live at the Amari home with the other children already living there. He will be enrolled in school and all his needs taken care of.

Amari Uganda relies on donations and child sponsors, there are no administration costs as the directors and staff all do work outside of Amari, and use their own money to cover shortfalls in the costs of looking after the children in their care, outreaches, and the 3 day a week street children feeding program.

We rent land where we run a small farm with pigs and crops, at the moment the costs, rent and transport to and from the farm charges are eating up all of our profits, but our hope is that as we become more established we can purchase our own land closer to the city, and Amari will become largely self sufficient.

Any donation, no matter how small, either monthly or one off will be more than welcome, and if you wish to see how your money is being used, that can be arranged too. We thank you in anticipation… bless you
