Yappi Sports is the leading sports message board for Ohio High School sports. The site has been online for 17+ years and has had 73,000 registered users and over 7,000,000 posts.
Over this time, the internet has changed from only desktop users to a majority of mobile users. Our software is outdated and in desperate need of a true APP for the mobile users.
I have selected new software that will perform better on a desktop and on a phone. In addition, there is an APP that can be purchased that will make it a better experience for all mobile users. There are multiple costs for this new software. Some are one time costs. Others will be ongoing monthly costs.
I would like to buy the software as soon as possible to begin the back-end work on the site. To avoid any disruptions to the site, the transfer to the new software would not take place until the Spring of 2019.
Unfortunately, the move to mobile has created a sharp drop in revenue from advertisements under the current software. This makes it very difficult to make these purchases and make the site the best it can be.
It's been almost a decade since last asking for help upgrading the site. Hopefully these last 10 years have been entertaining enough that you could help out and ensure another decade of entertainment and community.
