Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fund

Update:
Hello everyone, my father has updated me with what Comunidades en Accion (CEA) has done with the donations received from GoFundMe.   First of all, I thank God for making all of this possible and each and everyone of you who have donated to the GoFundMe account. To date, a total of $4560.00 has been raised and has helped CEA purchase food and water directly from Goya Food Corp. and Pepsi Company at wholesale costs. CEA packaged the food and water and delivered it directly to the communities. 25O families were provided with this relief. My dad said they were able to go into some rural areas where assistance had not yet been provided. They were very grateful for the food and water they received. My Dad sent me some pictures and videos for all of you. (My dad is the one in the red baseball cap.) I asked him how the island is doing post Hurricanes Irma and Maria. He told me that they are ok, but still are in great need of assistance. Many of the islanders in rural areas are still without electricity and are relying on generators for power or doing without. FEMA relief has long lines and is moving slowly. I asked is there anything we could still do. He told me if they could continue to receive donations from GoFundMe. CEA would like to provide hot meals to families for Christmas, as many are still suffering from the devastation of the recent hurricanes. On behalf of CEA, I would like to ask if you haven’t had the opportunity to donate before, please consider it now so CEA can bring hot meals this Christmas to the Puerto Rican families who are still struggling.

Three weeks after the Deadly Hurricane Maria caused catastrophic destruction in Puerto Rico, many rural towns have not yet received aid from the federal government -- creating a sense of abandonment among millions of residents. Less than 20 percent of the residents have electricity.  To make matters worse, most of the aid has been distributed in the metropolitan areas such as San Juan, leaving smaller towns like Yabucoa in complete abandonment.  Yabucoa, located about an hour and a half from San Juan, Puerto Rico’s capital, was where Hurricane Maria made landfall on Sept. 20 with winds of up to 150 mph. It is the hometown of Fontana resident Anastacio Lozada, who for years has been involved in the community and is doing what he can to assist his family, friends and neighbors in Yabucoa Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico is suffering through its biggest disaster and its 3.4 million residents are still at risk. The island has little power, does not have enough drinking water, lacks enough food and medicine, and has seen dozens of people perish.
Some towns like Yabucoa have little or no ability to communicate with the outside world. On Oct. 9, Lozada finally made a connection after several days to plead for assistance.
“We need all the help we can get,” Lozada said via cell phone to the Herald News. “I hope anyone who has ties to the Puerto Rico community responds; believe me, the situation is very bad.”
Yabucoa is my heart and soul.  I am doing whatever it takes to make sure the Yabucoa community has direct access to help.  We NEED YOUR HELP.  Anything small will all add up.  The funds will be used for our community to get on their feet faster.  With us utilizing GoFund Me, we can make a direct impact on bring aid directly to our community.  Visit us on our Facebook Page .  We are a Non-Profit organization, small but nonetheless it all starts small from our heart.  With much gratitude and love.  Anastacio Lozada.   Geraldine Meraz is the treasurer for funds since Puerto Rico has limited internet.  Geraldine Meraz will make sure that the funds are deposited into the non-profit account for Comunidades En Accion Inc.
