I adore my history with YAR...
First, in the 1970's, I was a student in public school, a recipient of the artists coming to my school all through my school years. I was transfixed and inspired. Then I spent years as a YAR artist myself first with Opera Theatre of Rochester and then for many years and dozens of school performances as part of Ballet Duo with Pamela Wilkens-White. And finally, when I moved back to Rochester decades later, as a YAR board member. What an exceptional legacy it's had throughout my life.

Young Audiences of Rochester is celebrating our 55th anniversary on February 16 (c.1962).
There are over 340,000 Pre-K, elementary, middle, and high school students in our 19-county service area. Our goal is to deliver on average 1 arts experience/year for each of those students. In 2015-16 our average cost/experience was $2.30.
Art changes lives. Not just those of the children and youth that we serve, but all our lives. We can do this, $1 at a time. Please help us spread the love of arts and education. Let ARTS GROW HEARTS!

For over 50 years, YOUNG AUDIENCES OF ROCHESTER, the largest, most comprehensive multimodal non-profit arts learning organization in Upstate New York, has been your premier resource and provider of award-winning, innovative and high quality arts learning experiences in the Greater Rochester region.
Our Equity-in-Arts Access Initiative, BUILD YOUNG AUDIENCES and Beyond, puts quality programming within financial reach of all schools, educational sites and organizations that serve children and youth.
YA serves 19 counties in upstate NY. Last year, YA’s talented, multi-disciplinary teaching artists provided over 186,000 arts experiences to young hearts and minds in 15 counties. For every dollar contributed, YA delivered an arts experience. That's a respectable value for your contributed dollar.
We want and need to do more, but we need your help. So even if you can't give right now, please share this best kept secret in education with your friends, family, and especially, school administrators, community leaders, PTA’s and clubs, and teachers that you know.
