Mark Lunsford has faced many challenges with cancer in most of his major organs. This latest bout was with his brain and now  his liver.
Mark was determined terminal by four surgeons at UNC Hospital on Feb. 18.             He has been given 2 months  to two years to live. Karen , his wife is so grateful for the Go Fund Me Campaign  and to those who have contributed and still contribute on a regular basis. These funds have basically paid for his days in the Nursing Home.
He should be coming home by the 13th, and it's going to be another hardship. They must have their home handicap accessible.
He is still very confused...not sure where he is, or even who has visited. At least he knows Karen and his kids.
We now need to get down on our knees and pray to God for a Miracle.

Mark has been transferred to Liberty Commons . Karen spent most of the day with Mark. They started his PT right after he got there and they already have him walking with a walker, and he even practiced stair steps. Karen says he is frail and still a bit confused, but nothing like he was at UNC.
Karen and family now have a 4 minute drive to see Mark, which makes for a shorter drive and a faster recovery.
Mark’s first week at Liberty Commons is $2,860 which Karen has to pay out of pocket.
Please email your friends and family and ask them to help out one of your friends who is hurting medically and financially. I know they will help even if it is 10.00. You just have to send them an email.

Karen has a nice 2 hour visit with Mark. She said it was good to see all of those tubes out of his face and the staples removed from his noggin. He was alert 99% of our time there. Still talking a little bit of nonsense but mostly coherent. Hope to find out his release date tomorrow!!!!!!

This the latest update from Karen and Morgan. Mark had a couple of setbacks this week. Pathology reported that the kidney cancer has now metastasized to his liver. They do not know the plan of action yet. Had to have 2 more CT scans yesterday because the neurosurgeon didn't think the shunt in his head was draining properly. Thank God they repositioned him and he did not have to endure another procedure. Called today and he's being allowed to eat some applesauce, but they will put the feeding tube back in overnight so he'll still get some nutrition. So thin...looks like he's down to about 150 lbs. Was hoping he'd be back here in rehab by today but it may be the middle of next week.
Keep praying for Mark and his family and give what what you can to help his family recover from this unfortunate situation❤️❤️❤️

Great News to Donors and Friends!!Mark was finally moved from the ICU to a regular room yesterday. Morgan said he's much more alert and talkative. Sure wish he could hold a phone. He is in room 6401. Hoping to see Mark and Karen at the August reunion. Posting a pic of Mark in high school for fond memories.
