Carole's Kicking Cancer- Part 2

As many of you know, earlier this year Carole underwent a right breast mastectomy followed by chemotherapy to treat Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Triple Negative and BRCA1







In September, she had her other breast and ovaries removed. The surgery wasn’t without challenges but in the end she came out on top!



After the difficulties she endured over the year, Carole was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. Things were starting to look up and although she had to wait for test results on her ovaries, she remained positive and was finally starting to plan for the future.



And then the news came…



Ovarian Cancer.



The plan this time around will be longer and stronger amounts of chemotherapy. Sessions last 6 & 7 hours long over a period of 12-14 weeks. Carole will be starting on Dec 16 – just in time for the holidays.



Until now, Carole has been doing homeopathic treatments alongside chemotherapy. Her treatments have allowed her to manage the intense side effects of chemotherapy and have assisted her in maintaining a mental strength that we have all come to know and admire. These treatments have been a driving force in her journey and empowered spirit. She learned to run and completed her first 5K race while in treatment, in addition to taking up cycling alongside Troy.







Unfortunately, homeopathy comes with great financial burden. Costing a minimum of $200 a week! Coupled with the cost of gas to and from the hospitals, parking, not being able to work and so on, the burden has become great. Carole and Troy have had to remortgage their house and sell many items to attempt to stay afloat.



Despite the challenges, Carole maintains her fighting spirit. With her solider, Troy, by her side every step of the way, she wakes up each day ready to take on whatever challenges are ahead.
