Help a mother survive BM transplant
In people who have AA, their bone marrow does not produce a proper amount of red blood cells to carry oxygen for the body, white blood cells to fight infection, and platelets to help stop bleeding. It is believed that the self immune system see bone marrow cells as a virus and start to kill them, but as of now, AA has no known cause.
Being the only income in the family, a mother of a one year old. I have no choice but turn to this site for help.
Currently, I am really fatigue and depend on multiple blood transfusion to keep my blood counts up. My husband got suspended for his fellowship from the school because he had to take care of me. It definitely adds more dark clouds to the rainy days.
The only cure to AA is a Bone Marrow Transplant and luckily, my brother is a match.
With a successful transplant, I need to stay in the hospital for 2 to 4 weeks. After that, I will have to stay home for 6 to 12 months to ensure a full recovery. During that time, I will need around the clock home care. It is difficult because my husband had to quit his job to take care of me and our son.
With previous medical bills and out of pocket expense for this upcoming transplant and my brother's donor expense, it would cost us over $50,000.
I am prepared to fight this fight and do whatever it takes to get my health back. However, we are here to seek for your help. All the money raised here will be used towards the medical bills, child care and home care for me and my family.
Anything helps! God bless all of you who even take the time to read this message! Your kindness is greatly appreciated!
