In November 2015, six years into her triple negative breast cancer diagnosis, Aimee learned that she had metastasis to her brain. Gamma knife radiation, more chemo, and steroids weren't enough to prevent seizures. Aimee had a seizure while driving in May 2016, causing a shattered maxillary bone and sinus fracture. She was unable to drive and work and the loss of income became one more hurdle to try to overcome. The chemotherapy was interfering with the healing of her facial fractures so doctors reduced her therapy. In November 2016, scans revealed that one of the brain tumors advanced, requiring a craniotomy to remove that tumor. Aimee finally caught a break after her brain surgery with a couple of pain free months. However, you are reading this story because on the morning of February 6, Aimee was found unresponsive and was admitted to ICU. First attempt to reduce sedation and extubate was unsuccessful. Aimee needs our love, support and prayer. She has touched the lives of so many. She's listened when we needed heard, she has joked when we needed a laugh and she's always been ready for a good time when we just needed a break. But Aimee will be facing great financial challenges when she gets back on her feet. Her medical expenses will continue to be inordinate with no source of income. She will need help maintaining the home she has made for her 10 year old daughter and 18 year old son who is preparing to leave for college this fall. We invite you to lift Aimee in prayer and give if you can. No gift is too small.
