Help baby Mason and Kaycie!
Donation protected
My name is Brittany, Kaycie is my sister and Mason is my nephew. Mason is 11 weeks old his birthday is Oct 21 2015.
He has had troubles since the day he was born. His liver isn't funtioning the right way. He has Biliary Atrasia
Biliary atresia is a rare disease of the liver and bile ducts that occurs in infants. Symptoms of the disease appear or develop about two to eight weeks after birth.
Cells within the liver produce liquid called bile. Bile helps to digest fat. It also carries waste products from the liver to the intestines for excretion.
This network of channels and ducts is called the biliary system. When the biliary system is working the way it should, it lets the bile drain from the liver into the intestines.
Catching it as late as we did he will always be at risk for a liver transplant. He had major surgrey on Jan 13 2016,
he is on a ventilator, feeding tube, and in the nicu he will stay in the hospital for a month to be monitored. This is a lifetime desease will always have follow ups and being poked and prodded.
Kaycie is trying to work part time but all the doctor appoinments and surgreys in the future she cant do as much as she hopes. The money that will be donated will go to masons perscription, hospital stays, doctors and cost of living for Mason and Kaycie.
I know our goal says $5000 but anything helps. I hope to help my sister as much as I can but having a family and children of my own I dont have much money myself.
If you all can just take a minute and pray and send good vibes for mason Kaycie, Mason, and Myself really apperciate everyones support and cant explain how much this means to us.
Family means the world the to me and seeing my baby sister go through all of this I dont want her to have to worry and do it alone. The last thing she needs to worry about is money on top of everything else she has on her plate right now.
Thank you all for listening to my story and the support and prayers. You all are greatly apperciated
