Hey guys! Thanks for allowing me a couple of minutes of your time.
I am in need of donations in order to compete in this competition. Being a single mother who works full time with two little girls is hard enough, a little financial grace would be greatly appreciated!
This competition is more than just a "pageant" for me. It hits home.
It donates 100% of its proceeds to homeless veteran women across America. Most of you dont know this about me...only a few of my closest friends will, but at one point in my life, I was homeless myself. My girls and I were a part of one of the most scariest statistic that I had ever thought we could be. We were without a home and even a car. It was the worst part of being a mother-not being able to provide for my daughters. The military never really prepared me for the outside world, and having just separated from my husband; It was even more difficult to find a job with no one to help with child care.
I'm a resourcesful person at heart, so my situation was only for about a month. 211 came to my resuce a time or two but the VA didnt help at all due to the "help houses" being only for male veterans. My girls and I were denied housing because I was a woman. Thats why I'm doing this competition.
Im setting up this Go Fund Me account because I am asking for help. These funds will not go to the homeless veterans. They will go to me. My travel/Accomodations in June 2018 for Auditions (location TBA and out of state). My gown and shoes for presentation, and hair and makeup with photoshoot. All of these expenses have to come out of pocket.
Any amount will help out. I'd greatly appreciate it. Again, Thank you so much for your time!
