Suuri's Adventure is a mixed genre game that uses both a matching and adventure based themes. Suuri takes off on her adventure to save her brother with 5 weapons. Each stone in the matching portion of the game corresponds to one of the 5 elemental weapons, matching 3 or more of those stones charges that weapon. Here is a prototype, game board and stones are final but the  character art and weapons are placement only.

The following is my basic GDD to give more info about the game.

Suuri’s Adventure

High Concept:
The high queen Suuri Kuningatar returns home from a long journey to find that her brother has been kidnapped by Lady Elle Mantle the lady of darkness in an attempt to gain control of the master crystal. Suuri gathers her wits and weapons to set out into the realm, fighting Elle’s bosses and minions to rescue her brother. She will need skill and cunning to overcome the waves of evil bosses and minions to reach the heart of Elle’s realm.

Suuri’s Adventure is the first title in a series of different games planned.

In the benevolent land of Criostail Ghleann lives a crystal people charged with keeping the balance of energy here on Earth. Deep in the center of this land lies Magtcentrum the seat of power, a place where the 12 crystal leaders (Emerald, Amethist, Agate, Aquamarine, Citrine, Celestite, Garnet, Jade, Lapis, Malachite, Rose Quartz, and Ruby) gather to absorb the ethereal energy and regulate its power down to the earthly plane. Suuri Kuningatar, the Emerald high queen of the land, watches over everything with a justful and kind eye. They have thrived in peacefull abundance under her rule for thousands of years. There has been only one citizen in the recent history of Criostail Ghleann who’s greedy and ambitious nature caused her to be cast out of the land. The Onyx lady of darkness Elle Mantle, whose lust for power has grown exponentially over the centuries and she will stop at nothing to control the master crystal underneath Magtcentrum. Recruiting elements from the lower realms she has finally amassed an army that might be large enough to become such a threat. Once Elle controls the master crystal she will use block the flow of energy to earth, keeping it for herself and raising her to godlike ability. It is up to Suuri Kuningatar and the other 11 crystal leaders to stop Elle from succeeding.

Game Platform:
The game is a mix of genres, a match 3+ with an adventure. It is intended to be a social media game (Facebook). The game will use a free to play / in-game purchase model. Special ability stones will be available as random drops and in the game store. The game will use Unicoins as a common currency, which will also be used in future titles.

Game Play:
The player swaps adjacent (vertical / horizontal) symbols, no match will be required to move a symbol. Successfully matching 3 or more symbols will charge that symbol’s weapon in the adventure part. As the symbols match they remove themselves and drop down new symbols, there is a possibility for multiple symbol types to match up. Example, if one of the dropping symbols completes a match those will also be counted in that turn. There will be 5 different symbols 1 for each element, Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Psi (psychic/spirit) used to charge the 5 weapons Suuri caries. Two regular game stones will also be used. A life stone that will act as a heal stone, giving the player a health boost. The second is a death stone, this one will take half the match points for that stone away from the total enemy health and give it to the player.

Game Play Mechanics:
Game Layout:
There will be a few screen types from main title to social media specific and the main game screen .The main game screen will be split into 2 sections, the lower half will consist of the matching part while the adventure portion will be on top.

There will be starting levels based on each element and some other levels to be added later. Example might be seasonal types (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, etc.). Each set will have 3 levels per element with increasing number of waves per level. The first will be 3 enemy waves then 4 then 5. Additional sets added later can be variable from 3 - 5 levels per set. The player advances to the next wave by matching symbols in the lower grid to charge the weapon in the adventure part to shoot the enemies on screen. With each successful match of 3 or more like symbols it charges the appropriate elemental weapon and shoots at the enemies in the upper adventure half decreasing its health bar. It is a turn based game so after the player fires each enemy on screen will take turns shooting at the player. The weapons are upgradable to add stamina and damage for that weapon. Player health is a base number plus the stamina of all the weapons.

Player Control:
The player will use the mouse (or touch/drag for mobile devices) to move adjacent pieces on the match 3 game grid.

Score & Health Meters:
Each enemy will have a health bar that will decrease as the enemy is hit. The player will also have a main health bar that will decrease with each enemy hit. Each enemy defeated will add to the score.

Winning & Losing:
Winning solution is two parts, first successfully defeating all enemies on screen per “wave” and finally defeating the “boss” wave to complete each level. Score points will be added to the main score which will advance the player with experience points. Those points are used to upgrade the weapons.

Loss condition is if the player loses all heath before defeating the “boss”. Score points will be lost.

Game Environment:
The game environment will be split into two sections. The upper part will have an adventure section displaying the world, enemies, and elemental weapons. Each level set will keep a common theme, example the water element will have a water look and feel to it. The lower part will have the match 3 game grid. A background will be used to fill the negative space and tie the theme together for that level set.

The Player’s Character:
The player is the title character (protagonist) Suuri Kuningatar.

The NPCs:
Elle Mantle, the main antagonist. Each wave will have a boss and several minion types for that level set theme.

Why gofundme:
The basic game prototype has been made but your help is needed to complete the graphics and character art needed for the 30 initial levels.

A boss character will be created for the highest supporter over $10,000 for a special supporter’s level. In the event of more than one with the same amount a random drawing will be held to pick who will become the Boss for that level.

currently a design studio for a variety of medium from print to web and offer services including design, programming and photography. The goal is to transition into a full gaming studio. Initially creating games for social media and expand into full desktop and mobile titles within the first 2 to 3 years. This title is the first in a series around Suuri. A prototype is made; however, funds are needed to generate the artwork for all the characters, backgrounds, and weapons in the game.

Stretch goals:
Experience points are universal but an option can be added later to allow special “drops” from the enemies allowing for element specific upgrades and special abilities for the weapons.

Currently the damage is calculated based on the weapon numbers; however, this can be augmented by adding a player stat option that can have shield, health, and damage ratings that up those numbers and help protect the character better.

Currently the game is designed for desktop social media platforms using Flash, with extra support we will port the game to a mobile friendly game engine.

Once funding is reached we will reach out to those in the silver reward level for their mailing address. After the beta is complete and we launch the game everyone will receive notification with a special one-time code to redeem their reward level Unicoin pack.
