Baby Waylen's Medical Fund

To family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers,

In January 2016, our baby boy, Waylen, was diagnosed with two congenital birth defects. He was diagnosed with multiple heart defects as well as a spine defect. When we were told the news we were overwhelmed, saddened, and planned for the worst. However, we began to research and ask questions and have begun to plan for the best. We think that with the team of nurses and doctors at UVA, Waylen will be able to live a long and healthy life.  After birth, he will have to have at least one open heart surgery over the course of his first three months of life. This will take both of us away from work for a period of time to stay in or near the hospital, routine trips to and from the hospital, medication, specialized equipment, and in home care.
It is going to be a long and difficult road ahead so if  you would keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this time it woud mean a lot to us. Also, if you are able to donate, please do! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts in advance!

We know everything happens for a reason and this has brought us closer and made us stronger and we are ready to meet our hero!
