We'd like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you for taking time to know our cause. Vincent and I are planning to have a series of fundraising campaigns for our dear friend, Christian Lawenko. Christian has been diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, Myeloproliferative Neoplasm in 2014.
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), previously called myeloproliferative disorders (MPD), are a group of diseases that affect normal blood cell production in the bone marrow. In this case the bone marrow causes an overproduction of one or more blood cell types (red cells, white cells or platelets). Complications arise over time due to the abnormally high number of blood cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and in the circulating blood.
He is undergoing treatment in Manila, Philippines. A drug was prescribed to him which can only be purchased in Hong Kong or in the United States. We have coordinated with some family members and friends in Hong Kong and in God's grace, the drug is available for purchasing. The medicine is costly enough along with the travel expense. We would like to seek for your support in raising funds for this cause.
We have thought of surprising him by putting up an online campaign to raise funds for us to help him and his family support the medical expense that comes with his treatment.
