Jean-Pierre De Villiers is one of those extraordinary people who makes a lasting impression for his kindness, generosity and infectious energy, always striving to help others achieve their dreams.

Always in service, JP was fundraising for the brain tumour charity, The Addie Brady foundation, a cause close to his heart when tragedy struck.

JP and his friend Callum had been on a charity cycle ride from John O'Groats in Scotland to Land's End in Cornwall, the length of the UK! They had cycled 880 out of 1000 miles and were on the last two days of their ride.

Tragically, JP was hit by a car in a hit-and-run collision by a previously disqualified driver who fled the scene.

The car hit him with such force, he went over the car, flew over the barriers and was wedged in between a tree and the barrier. His bike was shattered into pieces.

He was airlifted from North Devon to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with two badly broken legs, a fractured arm and potentially life threatening internal injuries.

JP is still in Intensive Care, having suffered serious internal organ injuries, including a perforated bowel, and has since undergone multiple complex surgeries.

He has subsequently developed a nasty chest infection which has caused breathing problems as well as irregular heartbeat. He remains in huge amounts of pain.

We are so devastated by what happened to JP. We have created this Go Fund Me page to give back in a time of vulnerability to a wonderful human being who has selflessly given so much to so many throughout his life. Since the accident many people have reached out with stories of how JP has positively affected them.

Donations will help him with the legal, medical and other expenses incurred due to the loss of his livelihood while he recovers. Once he is out of intensive care and hospital, JP will require extensive rehabilitation to heal and recover from this traumatic event. As an athlete, fitness is his life so this is going to be devastating for him.

We are hoping to raise enough funds to be able to assist him with quality supplements, nutrients, therapies and treatments he will require.

It will no doubt be a long road to recovery for him and he will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.

His devoted wife Julia has been so loving and caring by his bedside since the accident, encouraging him and will be supporting him full time during his recovery.

We are appealing to your compassion and generosity. This loving, kind and generous man deserves a chance to receive our help.

As a talented motivational speaker and coach, JP will continue to change and influence countless lives in the future with his inspirational example. We feel that by helping him now he can focus solely on his healing journey.

Please, find it in your heart to contribute with your donation, however big or small, so we can help him on the road to recovery.

JP has given so much and almost lost his life trying to help others. Now we want to help him!

We hope and pray he will come out of this stronger than ever to keep helping and bringing light and joy to others.

Please do share this link to anyone else who might be able to help.

Thank you very much!

With love and deep gratitude from JPs close friends ❤

Thank you thank you thank you. I have finally been able to go through all of the comments and all of the donations on this campaign. I honestly can’t thank you enough. To be honest, this evening I had a bit of a breakdown. There has been a few times since the accident that I sit down and think about it and look at photos of me in hospital or my broken bicycle and it makes me quite emotional. At times I can’t still believe that it happened. It just doesn’t feel real. One thing I know for sure though is that your donations have made my recovery time a lot easier. For the last two months I’ve not had to travel, chase clients, run social media campaigns or any kind of work to bring in money because I’ve been looked after by you. Once again thank you. Also, I could not be going through my recovery the way I am without Jules so I just want to say thank you to Jules too. My wife is an absolute machine and she takes care of me from morning until night. Actually, this evening when asking her questions about my time in intensive care she shared with me that she was with me every day from morning until night. I didn’t know that until now. That just shows the type of person that she is and I’m extremely grateful to have her with me and in my life. I know a lot of you have been speaking with Jules since my accident, and helping her with what we’ve been going through so for the third time thank you. I will be sending individual replies eventually, please be patient with me. I’m so overwhelmed by the generosity I have received and I’m So grateful to each and everyone of you. In love and gratitude, JP

Wow we hit our initial target in less than a week! It just goes to show how much love and support JP has from around the world. Thank you so so much to all those who have donated to help this incredible man get back to doing what he does best! We would love to see how far we can go for him.

It’s been over two weeks now since the accident and it’s going to be a long road ahead with months of physical therapy to regain his strength and abilities.

We've set up this Go Fund Me page for JP so he can focus solely on his recovery while he is unable to work. He lives his life in service and contribution to others and now it’s his time to receive our help.

I want to let you in on 2 secrets about JP...

The first is that his bulletproof mindset refuses to let people help him. He will not know how to respond to the kindness of his friends because he only thinks about helping other people. Every donation to his page will force him to open up a new part of himself that is finally OK to accept help from others who care about him (it's a lesson he needs to learn). Secondly, he actually needs some help - he has a long road ahead and his recovery will be costly in many ways. Every little bit helps him to focus on building his strength so he can come back and continue to be a force for good in the world. If you want to invest in the future of one of the very best humans (who's lucky to be) alive, you can donate here!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 weeks since the accident and that JP has been in Intensive care. Unfortunately it seems one step forward two steps back at the moment. JP had scans and x rays over night due to concerns with his stomach and bowel. We hope no further surgery is needed. As you can imagine not eating for two weeks is really taking its toll! He is in so much pain but is able to speak and think more coherently now as the painkiller is not being administered intravenously. Obviously he is coming round a bit more and realising the extent of what’s happened which is incredibly upsetting. It’s such a lot to take in but he’s doing really well and your messages of support are helping him keep his spirits up. He wanted to say thank you so much for all the donations to his @gofundme page. It means so much and will help tremendously on his road to recovery. ❤ He loves the card @biancamadisonvuleta and Mirela. ❤ Check our the campaign at the link in bio. #fighter #champion #gofundme
