Saving Scooby

Scooby was a stray I found chained to a tree.  I freed him, bathed him and took him to the vet.  We have loved him and cared for him for 5 years when he suddenly became ill.  He was a lively, rambunctious, happy go lucky boy who loved his Scooby snacks and playing with his favorite tennis ball “Bally” and now can barely move and refused to eat.  Late Saturday night his breathing was shallow and he wouldn’t move at all. We rushed him to the Pet emergency room.  They ran several tests and xrays.  He was diagnosed with Lyme disease and kidney failure.  They started aggressive treatment for the Lyme disease and kidney failure.  He will be in the hospital for at least 48 hours for the initial treatment.  If the treatment is successful, he will be on medication for the rest of his life, have to go for regular follow up bloodwork and a special diet for his kidneys.  The bill for just the initial visit tapped me out and I’m not sure how I will continue to pay for his treatment.  He is only 6 years old. He has so much life to live. His life started out sad until we rescued him and love him completely.  My 12 year old son is absolutely heartbroken.  He just wants his puppy to come home.  I am a single mom and it’s been Scooby, my son and I for the last five years.  We are lost without our Scooby.  We need your help to get our puppy healthy and back home.   Please help Scooby Doo get healthy and home to his family.
