Candy Crushes Cancer !

Candy Coffman, my mother, is one of the best people I know. I don’t know where I’d be today if it weren’t for her raising me to get to this point. She is a beautiful soul that doesn’t deserve to go. She has so much life left in her that deserves to be lived. Two years ago, she had some tumor masses near her kidneys that the doctors said they could get out. They took a kidney, her spleen, and a rib from her when they didn’t have to, but it proved for a minute to be successful. I helped take care of her for two months when she could barely walk, and for a while, everything seemed better.

Until the last few months, the tumors “came back”, this time around her stomach area. There’s about four of them. They were smaller, and the doctors said the chemotherapy could prevent them from getting larger and shrink them. This didn’t work and now they, along with the specialists in Western medicine in the US, have claimed they can do nothing for her. We’ve exhausted pretty much every option over here with the best cancer “specialists” in the country. Chemo and radiation stuff just doesn’t cut it. Western/American healthcare has failed her.

So, I am turning to Eastern Medicine in China as the main option. This, along with some Eastern dietary changes and whatnot, are my big hopes that I have left for my mother. My friend Derek has connections in his family to holistic practices in the US, particularly in Arizona, but he’s still trying to get details on that. He has also helped give advice on simple dietary changes that my mom should try that will help out in the long run, and from what I’ve seen, said changes could help for a little bit, but not necessarily help one “beat” it for good. Thus, the Fuda Hospital in China is where I turn to.

Founded back in 2001, the hospital uses practices like nano-knife (The most expensive option which is around 30,000 dollars alone) and cryotherapy where they literally kill the cancer tumors and cells by freezing them. I’ve looked at countless reviews/methods for this hospital among others and it seems like the best option she can possibly have, so I’m taking the chance.

We are not rich individuals. She said she is open to traveling to China in order to receive the treatment, but that it would just be too much money that we don’t have. It’s so expensive because it’s not common practice from what I can gather. I wish our system here would look into these practices. But, as I discussed with a a friend of mine named Alex, so many doctors and hospitals like to stick with the old way of doing things and are just years behind on what foreign countries are beating us in, medically.

I’m not sure what non profit organizations there are that might exist I can get help from, but I’ll look into those. Any help people might have is appreciated. She’s in stage 3, so I was really worried nothing could work much at this point based on everything I’ve been told, but this hospital I found in particular has treated and helped thousands of patients, in all stages of cancer, win in the end. Is it risky and pricey? Maybe. But, I’ll take that risk. Not one negative review that I saw other than all of them saying it was a bit pricey, but understandably so. The priciest total I saw someone having spent be 180,000 dollars with their treatments.

So, based on traveling expenses for multiple trips/treatments for about a year at the very least that are required after initial surgery, combined with what I know based on the website and reviews I’ve read (assuming the maximum effort would go into it based on what stage she’s in by the time this could even be funded), taking into account GoFundMe’s cut they take out of the donations to keep the site going, and a few other campaigns I’ve seen just to see if I was crazy for it being the amount that it is, I gave a rough estimate of what might be needed to help save her life. I’m not taking any chances by celebrating and then not having the appropriate amount of funds. If it’s a little bit over, I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it, to which, any extra funds can be used for good causes as well in regards to her and/or charity.

So, here I am, asking for some help. If you can find it in your heart to help out, it would be most appreciated. Just throwing the option out there for anyone that might care. Even just sharing it with those that can help goes a long way. I never expect any one person to donate more than 5 dollars. Do not donate to this if it hurts you financially. Anything beyond a 5 dollar donation is a blessing. This my mom’s best hope I can think of other than praying. I know there’s so many other problems out there, but please….if you can spare just minimum amount or just share the thing…please do so, but only if you are able. Mom should have the gift of life with her for as long as she can.  I don't want to lose her. I can't....You've all heard of Candy Crush, right? Well, let's help Candy crush the cancer and beat more than just an app!

Flying from Indianapolis, Indiana to Guangzhou, China, which is about 20 minutes from the Hospital. The address is 91 Jude Middle Rd, Haizhu Qu, Guangzhou Shi, Guangdong Sheng, China, 510300. For more information on Fuda, you can visit the following links below. I’ve also provided some photos to help give an idea on what the hospital is and who would be helping save my mother’s life.

If for whatever reason the goal isn't reached soon enough, whatever funds are raised will be used in some way for my mom. We're looking into some holistic places in Indiana as well, so funds very well could go to that possible help for her in the meantime if the campaign doesn't pick up speed for the Fuda Hospital hope.
