Benefit for Byron

For the past 14 years  Byron Kelly got up at 2:30 am to get to work for his 4 am shift.  Snowstorms...Hurricanes...Weekends...Christmas, Byron at one time or another worked them all.   Audio... Microwave... Robotics...Camera in the Field... Directing... Editing… Master Control, Byron did it all, but on February  6th  of 2018 Byron had a stroke at work.  Unfortunately,  he did not have the luxury of solely focusing on his physical health since he has not been paid any disability after faithfully serving WUSA-TV9 for over 34 years. He has been an exceptional coworker, admired by all and good friends with many of the current and former employees over the years from all departments at Channel 9.   We  would  like  to help him recoup from this terrible injustice that not only affects Byron, but his loving wife Kim,  and  their children Kelsey and Jack.   In addition to the medical bills that were not covered, the car note, the utilities, and the mortgage,  they  still  are financially responsible for Jack’s education.   Whatever  you think education costs  in 2018 ……TRIPLE IT!!! 

 

 WUSA/TEGNA/METLIFE  have left Byron with no resources to support his family since they claim he was NEVER on disability but on FMLA (Family & Medical Leave Act).  This  has resulted in a total nightmare for a man who left for work while his wife  was in labor having their first child because the station needed him since they were short-staffed!

We have set a goal of $6000.  We can do it!
