Help Tracy Beat Cancer!

If you have been lucky enough to know Tracy (Ray), then you know what a true warrior spirit she is.  She has been a survivor multi-times over: of sexual assault, of mental illness, and of homelessness. Now, she is bravely facing her newest foe: advanced cervical cancer.


Tracy’s cancer was accidentally discovered in the emergency room when she went to alleviate the severe pain and difficulty walking she was experiencing. Since that discovery, her life has been turned upside-down with a whirlwind of doctor’s visits, tests, and hospital stays. Tracy now faces a harrowing few months of daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy, making it impossible to continue working. Tracy lives by herself in Las Vegas, Nevada and her major support team is in Hudson Valley, New York. COVID-19 and lack of resources are making it difficult for us to be with her during her time of treatment.


We are asking for your support on her behalf to help her when she is too proud to ask for help herself. Unfortunately, the reality is that for at least the next couple of months, Tracy will need assistance paying for:


          *     Her rent and utilities (such as phone, internet, etc.)
          *     Transportation to and from radiation and chemotherapy treatments
          *     Groceries/ food delivery
          *     ...any other living expenses that might be associated with her treatment 

We also want to be prepared in case things take a turn for the worse to be able to bring her home for long-term care.  If that happens, your assistance will pay for:

          *     Airfare
          *     A rental truck for moving
          *     Associated expenses with setting up a care room in her sister Cathy’s home
                 (medical bed, equipment, supplies, etc.)

Tracy is truly one of the bravest, strongest, and most amazing women we have ever known.  She has fought, tooth and nail, every step of the way against horrible odds. We know she can win this battle too, with just a little help.

*  All funds will be withdrawn into a special checking account used only for this GoFundMe.  I have been asked by Tracy and Cathy to pay her bills on her behalf while she is ill so that it's one less thing she has to worry about - a task I take extremely seriously. I will be withdrawing the funds and delivering them to the beneficiary (Tracy) - or, more specifically, to her landlord, the phone company, her Instacart (grocery delivery) or Uber/Lyft account, etc.  whenever those bills are due/ those accounts are low. Finally, for your safety, GoFundMe discourages cash transactions, because cash cannot be accounted for should a dispute arise.
