Sylvester's Surgery

Hello everyone. My name is Macie Cobert and I'm starting this GofundMe for my cat and my best friend Sylvester. I adopted Sylvester back in May of 2017. I knew I wanted him the minute he jumped into my sisters lap at the animal shelter. We brought him home that day and little did I know I was going to love this cat more than I would have ever imagined. For the people that know me know that I love cats.. SOOOO much. Sylvester is different though. He snuggles with me every single night. Loves to go on car rides and look out the window when we drive around. He greets me at the door every time I've had a long day at school or rough night at work. He says hello with a strong head butt and a purr. 3 weeks ago I noticed a film over his eye and redness in his bright orange eyes. I took him to the vet and found out he had Uveitis. Uveitis is common in cats but can be treated. After a week of me constantly giving him medication, his eye became worse. More inflamed and he wasn't eating and would sleep ALL DAY LONG; which isn't how Sylvester acts. I took him to the ophthalmologist to find out that he has stage 2 glaucoma in just 3 weeks of me noticing the problem. I was devastated. I asked the doctor what he thought was best for treatment and he told me the best decision would be to get the eye removed. $1,200 is what the estimated amount was for the procedure. I'm a college student that goes to school 4x a week and I have a restaurant job to pay for my bills as I live alone with my sister, Madyson. I started this GofundMe in hopes that people would donate to help me so my cat wouldn't have to suffer with the pain his eye is causing him. Please feel free to share my story. Lets help Sylvester!
