Help me further my education!

Hello, my name is Anonda Speaks a senior in high school on my way to college, somewhere where I’ve always envisioned myself being but not always thinking I would get there and here’s why. I have not always been confident in myself or around others. Many factors went into the person I am today. I never really thought of myself as the reserved or shy type, so it was quite evident that I was not fully confident in myself. Throughout middle school and early high school I often felt like I didn’t have that “it” factor to really accomplish anything. What I mean by that is that I always felt as though I was good at certain things and that I was academically “there,” but I also felt that there was always someone better than me. I never really knew why I felt this way about myself because I know I have talent in many areas.One day I was fed up with myself; fed up with not showcasing my abilities. I wondered “Why do you let others affect the way you do things?” When I finally came to the realization that I am in control of my fate; I control my journey and ultimately; I decide where I end up; that was the day that I took control of my life. I decided to become as involved as I could in school and in my community, so much that people knew my name without me knowing them. I joined my school’s choir, a local step team, delta gems, the track team, teen achievers with the YMCA, art club, became very involved in my church and I worked as a volunteer model for the high school’s fashion program. After doing so, my confidence level sky-rocketed. I was eager to become more involved.This all paid off because not only was I involved, but I was leading those around me without even knowing it, which led to one of my biggest accomplishments: attending the National Young Leaders Conference in 2014. Also in 2018 I was selected to go to a rotary leadership conference called RYLA to represent my school. During my time at both conferences, I realized that being a leader is something that came natural to me, and that I needed to take advantage of this trait. These periods of my life sparked personal growth for me, and my goals became much easier to reach. That is why I feel I will succeed in college, by being involved and leading others around me.In order to become the leader I envision myself being I have to be able to pay my tuition for college one way or another. Getting into college is something that I’ve always thought of and now that it’s here I never knew how expensive it is.
