Attempting to do a hike like the A.T. is one of the most challenging and rewarding things that I have always wanted to do.
So, lot's have things have made me want to do this 5-6 month hike. Mostly it is because I need to get away from things in this world that remind me of certain events that have happened in the past to me. Re-building your self worth is a really hard thing, so I want to give back to an organization that helps women with this. If you can't support me, please give to them.

These last couple of years have been some of the most rewarding and terrifying moments of my life. I just graduated with my masters degree, and then went into a an internship with NASA. Things have been going non-stop, so I've hit this point where I just want to slow down. I love learning and researching, and of course I want a career. But right now I need to heal mentally before throwing myself into a life of constant work.
I have the support of my family to be able to attempt this, but I still need some help. I basically just need money for food and some a few more gear items. Anything would help. The rest will work itself out. So thank you for any help that you give me.
Also, if you're still reading this far...I'd like to dedicate the rest of this hike to PennysforNASA. We have the opportunity to put people on Mars, yet NASA is underfunded. We have literally put people on the moon and now we can't even get funded to take people past the International Space Station. 4/10 of one penny is the current budget for NASA. If everyone gave just a penny to NASA, we could make so much more progress.
