Last ditch effort

I humbly ask people for help.
One of the Marines I went into Iraq with in 2003 is in desperate financial need tonight and I’m asking people to help this warrior with only a nominal gift to him. This is the note that was sent to the Marines asking for their help from our former commander.

We all know the statistic of 22...22 veterans take their lives prematurely EVERY DAY. The 22 a day happens to many because those around him who know him and who are able to help don’t. I have spoken to Paul on many occasions and this has been building up. So he is in a crisis mode and we, those of us who served side by side with that old ass fart in combat-protecting his ass as he protected ours, have the ability to do something about it.
I can tell you that it takes a hell of a lot out of a grown man to ask for help. This is his plea.
I can also tell you that out of all I went through in the Marines, the same situation which plagues Paul was so much worse than anything the Taliban or Al-Qaeda could do to me. What all did we do for our country if this is the end result? It’ll drive a man to desperation. I’ve been there.
Gentlemen, I can tell you that I can’t afford to pay attention right now, but I’m giving him $100 because I won’t let one of my own become one of the 22 if I can help it - if I had the ability to help.
We don’t need super heroes - we just need everyone to give something. A lot of little somethings can add up to a lot of something. I ask you to support him as well.
God bless you, Marines!
