PERU 2018

Hele's school has been given an astonishing opportunity to take their students in years 10-12 on a life changing trip to Peru in the summer of 2018. I am determined and driven to participate in this once in a life time expedition as it will benefit me in so many ways such as: building my confidence, my physical fitness, community skills, team skills and so many more. The expedition consists of four aspects: community projects (helping the local Peruvians build classrooms, wells, communal buildings etc.) and also creating bonds and friendships with the rural and malnourished community, environmental projects (planting trees and seeds in order to help reforestation), wildlife projects (clearing litter that is fatal to animals on sea and/or land) and the big 4-5 day trek to Machu Picchu. We will also experience many amazing sites like the amazon rainforest, the Galápagos Islands, Lake Titicaca and Machu Picchu at the end of the trek. The trip adds up to a grand total of £4952, clearly this is a vast amount of money for a 16 year old to raise, for anyone in fact, however I am more than determined to raise this money through fundraising, work and hopefully also through donations. I believe I deserve to go on this trip as I feel so passionately towards helping the community, particularly those who are in poverty and in rural communities. I also have a passion for both the environment and wildlife so this expedition in Peru couldn't be more perfect for me. It is a bucket list worthy trip which I have always aspired to tick off and I can't wait to start my journey.
