Caring for Kari

This Go Fund Me account has been made on behalf of the sweetest soul we know, Kari. On the first day of Graduate school we all fell in love with Kari’s bubbly and selfless personality, her infectious smile, effortless charm, and beautiful spirit. Since graduating as an Occupational Therapist in 2015, Kari has served others and poured her heart and energy into bettering the lives of her patients. However, over the last year, Kari has been on quite the earth shattering journey causing her to leave her career behind. After all, its difficult to treat patients when you yourself cannot even stand. After many doctors visits, traveling to see specialists, and countless prayers, Kari was diagnosed with Lyme disease in addition to her previous diagnoses- hyperandrogenic POTS, hypothyroidism, mold toxicity and Epstein Barr Virus, amongst others. Because her Lyme disease was caught later than ideal, she has to undergo 5 weeks of IV treatments away from home. These treatments are NOT covered by insurance. For those of us that work in the medical field, we know that this will put an indescribable financial strain on Kari and her husband. Especially while Kari is out of work and they are still paying off her student loans. This is a burden she should not have to face when hope is finally here, and it is a burden that we pray she does not have to think twice about. As friends of Kari, we know she would never ask for help, so that’s why we’re asking. She has spent her life working towards a career to serve others, and now we have that chance to serve her.
