As most of my social media network may know already ...

My 2013 Chevrolet Equinox timing chain jumped a week after my powertrain warranty ran out.  The dealership was saying that I would need an entirely new engine which will run $6,000.
There is a class action lawsuit in reference to the engine and oil consumption complaints but GM has not recalled it.

After making several calls to the dealership, finance company, and the manufacturer they have agreed to trade in the vehicle. I am asking for assistance with the down payment, taxes, and fees. I have learned quite a bit about doing my research before buying a vehicle, purchasing GAP along with an extended warranty and how negative equity can impact you. I am thankful for everyone who has given Aa and I rides and checked on us during this process. Richmond's public transportation is not the best and although my friends and family have been amazing in assisting me with getting from place to place I have been hindered by not having transportation. I am hoping to raise the entire amount in a week. If you are able to help I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the other half of the down payment but need help with the full amount.
$750 Down Payment  + $21.75 (2.9%gofundmefee) = $771.75

40% of Americans can't cover a $400 emergency expense
Can you cover an unexpected $400 expense?
Four in ten Americans can't, according to a new report from the Federal Reserve Board. Those who don't have the cash on hand say they'd have to cover it by borrowing or selling something.

Transportation Emerges as Crucial to Escaping Poverty
“We’re working our way up in life,” said Mr. Baker, who has lined up a job coordinating financial classes with AmeriCorps after graduation. “The car,” Mr. Baker said, “is the key to life in Frederick.”

IT’S OFFICIAL: THE GREAT RICHMOND BUS REROUTE REDUCED TRANSPORTATION ACCESS FOR LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS
Six months after the Great Richmond Reroute, access to public transit for low-income neighborhoods has remained limited and in some cases, gotten worse, according to a study at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University.
“Our city is long overdue for a comprehensive transit redesign to meet the needs of today’s citizens and a growing, dynamic city,” the Great Richmond Reroute website says.

The Transportation Barrier
Many low-income people in urban and suburban areas struggle to find reliable transportation. The result is missed appointments and poor illness management, even when care is readily available. As a result, some people may find themselves without a way home after an emergency trip to the hospital, or miss a doctor’s appointment simply because they don’t have a way to get there.
