Relief for Mexico's Earthquake

Donation protected
On Tuesday, September 19th, 2017, Mexico City was commemorating the earthquake that we had suffered exactly 32 years ago in 1985. Every year at 11 a.m., Mexicans run earthquake drills to prepare for future disasters and to remember the loved ones we lost back in 1985. It was supposed to be just another regular day for all of us at work, home and school. However, at exactly 13:14:40, the floor started shaking without any earthquake alarms to warn anyone. I was getting ready to go to the office in my house when my sister yelled, “It’s an earthquake!” Everyone was shocked and started to panic… the rest is history.

The earthquake was 7.1 magnitude and it killed over 361 people. We are trying to take back our lives and re-build the homes where we once lived in.

For a while, I did not realize the extent of the damage. However, the truth is that we need help and the government has left us alone with fake promises and lies.

We are only asking to be able to recover our homes, or to reinforce the building we lived in. Our homes are small spaces where we have built our dreams, where we come to rest after a long day at work, and where we enjoy the company of our friends and loved ones. We all want to return to our homes.

All we are asking is for you to help us out with anything you can. The money will be used to buy construction materials to reinforce an 8 unit apartment building that houses 15 people including myself.
