Tanya's emergency surgery fund

Our friend Tanya recently discovered a lump on the side of her face. It seemed small and insignificant until she began to notice it growing in size. 

She had some tests done and found that she has a tumour growing on her left jaw just under her ear. The tests showed that the growth is very aggressive and 95% malignant meaning that it needs to be removed immediately. 

Every day that passes, the risk increases that it could become cancerous. Being where it is, it is extremely urgent that she have surgery ASAP.

Although alarming, Tanya had private health cover and had done for years. So she was somewhat relieved knowing she could have it dealt with fast. What she was not expecting was that her health fund refused to cover this surgery.

With that news, it became clear that instead of being able to have this growth removed almost immediately, she now needed to pay $8000 in medical bills for the surgery, or wait in the public health system which has an everage wait time of at least 12 months. 

As mentioned, due to the nature of this growth, Tanya cannot wait for 12 months or more to have surgery...she needs it as soon as possible.
