"We Love you Melissa"

Donation protected
Sunday, June 20th, Melissa Millet was driving in the right hand lane of the 401 with her daughter, Sienna, and her dogs when their vehicle was struck by another vehicle near the Putnam weigh scales. She was pushed into the ditch where her car flipped.  To drivers who think speeding is acceptable, to the person who thinks their time is more valuable than the lives of others… in an instant, life can be taken. Sadly, little Butters, who was loved by many, did not make it. Amazingly, both Melissa and Sienna, and the rest of the dogs made it out suffering only bumps and bruises.

Those of you who know Melissa, or who have even had brief encounters with her, knows she is a beautiful, caring and generous person. She dedicates every ounce of her soul to animal rights.   As a professional, no one is more determined, dedicated or works harder than Melissa does.  She is a professional dog trainer, a stunt dog trainer with Ultimutts Stunt Dog Show, and the host of ‘Doggy House Calls’ on Rogers TV.  She in known and loved by many, as was evident on Facebook the day of this senseless tragedy.

Melissa, her daughter Sienna, and the fur kids are going to need some time to heal both physically and mentally.  As a self employed, single mother I’m sure this will be a struggle; she has enough on her mind right now just making her family healthy again. Melissa's dogs are not only valued members of her family, they are her livelihood!!! Her entire life, all that she is and all that she loves was in that vehicle!  Insurance will only cover so much … it certainly won’t cover the time to get business back on track, and to pay the normal day to day expenses that will escalate and compound in the coming weeks. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all help out and be a part of taking the financial stress out of her life during this time?

So many loving people reached out to Melissa and her family yesterday to show support and try to be some comfort to her on such a tough day.  Good friends of hers, people that have only met her in passing and even totally strangers!  It was absolutely beautiful to see everyone come together.

I am starting a fund for Melissa Millett, to help her get back on her feet and to give her the opportunity to take the time she needs to do this.  Every little donation will help.  I know so many of you out there want to help out in some way but not sure what you can do for her.  Please consider this as a beautiful gesture of caring.
