Helping my Brother

Friends and Family,

First, let me say thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this because as you know this is outside my comfort-zone, however very recently I realized that one of my favorite people in the world, my brother, has reached a point where he needs the support of friends and family.  As many of you know, my brother David has developed an undiagnosable lung condition which has caused him to permanently lose a considerable amount of tissue in his lungs which is requiring him to  be on oxygen 24/7.  The result is that this has kept him from fulfilling the travel requirements of his job and as of last week he has been taken off payroll with his current company.  Unfortunately David has been dealing with this condition since March and there currently is no cure or understanding of what caused this or how he'll get better.  While David has been fighting this and trying to find a way to get better, he's also gone through his savings trying to find a solution.  As many of us in this community can relate, he's a sales professional and without being able to travel on an airplane he's been extremely limited in ways to make money to support his wife and kids, much less travel to doctors who could potentially help diagnose the problem.  While he's quickly finding ways to make some pocket money, he's limited in how much he can earn immediately and I'm trying to raise enough money to help him and his family make it through the next three months without the stress of not being able to meet their minimum financial obligations.

I'm frustrated in writing this because he's been busting his tail trying to get better with exercise, therapy and some of the best doctors we've found and the last thing he would ever do is ask his friends and family for help because the Norlander's, as most of you know, can be very stubborn and he's just not comfortable reaching out, but we as a family alone just don't have the resources to fulfill the void.  

So... I'm reaching out now because it's become imperative to me to help keep his family stable and continue along with the best doctors and the best equipment and tools available.  Hopefully by raising this $10,000 we can help his family with tuition expenses for his 6th and 8th grader, pay his mortgage, household expenses and/or find a better doctor that can fix this and return their lives to some semblance of normalcy.   In the mean time it's our hope that by providing him 3 months of security it may also provide his family enough time to figure out a new way to excel despite this curveball.
