IT TAKES A VILLAGE
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Marisol Maull. I have a significant family presence in Puerto Rico and they and so many others were affected by Hurricane Maria. My family and I were successful in relocating 11 family members from Puerto Rico to Florida. I am happy to report that they all arrived safely this past weekend (October 14 & 15) and they are now in the process of creating a new life.
In response to multiple requests on ways to help, which I am truly humbled by, I have decided to open this site, IT TAKES A VILLAGE, as a centralized place in which everyone can participate. These donations will be distributed in two ways. One way will be to purchase gifts cards to Target, Walmart, Publix (a local grocery store), gas cards and generic gift cards which will be passed along to my family, now here in Florida, to help them get back on their feet and provide them with some independence as they navigate forward. The second way, as I still have family on the island, will be to purchase generic gift cards for local purchases, and will also be used to send everyday essentials, via Amazon, which I have personally confirmed are now successfully making deliveries, to my family who will then distribute these items to their neighbors and friends.
I have established this site as I felt it was the easiest way to consolidate efforts, however, if you prefer to contribute directly, please feel free to email me and I will provide you with my families' address in Florida as well as my cousin's home in Puerto Rico.
In the wake of numerous natural disasters, I know there are many who need help and I truly appreciate your consideration. If a monetary donation is not feasible, I would kindly ask that you continue to keep all affected not only by Hurricane Maria but all natural disasters in your thoughts and if you do so, prayers.
With my 41 years on this planet, while I like to think I am Wonder Woman, I have learned that not one person can do it all, help is required no matter how uncomfortable it may be to ask for. Indeed, there are so many good people in the world and when a village comes together, beautiful things can happen. Thank you for taking the time to read my request and more importantly for being a part of my village. Love to all.
