Lung cancer

Hello everyone, hope you are having a great day. My name is Alian Marin, I am a pre medical student at College. My parents came over to Colorado to visit me for the winter holidays, one night my dad was feeling anxious so we decided to take him to the emergency room. The doctors were trying to find out the cause of his high blood pressure, and what the CT revealed was a mass in his right lung. The primary care doctor told us that it might be cancer. As you can imagine, that is one of the worst things that you could ever hear in your entire life, I felt that time stoped for a while and that I was living one the worse nightmares ever. We have no family in Colorado, except for friends of my church which are now our support through this path.
On the beginning of January we had the next appointment with the Oncologyst which after the biopsy test, the cancer was confirmed, a non-small lung cell cancer on stage 3, which was a surprise for us since he has never smoked before. We are completely devastated because he had no symptoms, and he was feeling great before he was diagnosed. Now his health is getting worse, on February 13 he was taken to the emergency room for pneumonia, and was in hospital for 2 nights.
The medical bills are increasing and it is getting extremely stressful for us to be dealing with my dad's cancer and our financial situation.
My parents are under a visitor visa, which means that they are unable to get social assistance or public benefit. Because of his condition, my father cannot be working anymore at this time, so basically the only income is my full time job.
My friends were suggesting me to request for funds in this page, but honestly I do not feel comfortable asking for donations to people. It is something that never crossed in my mind, but we are in a situation that it is extremely expensive to afford his treatment. We have not started with quimotherapies, and our debt is getting higher every time we go to the ER.
My dad is the most important part of my life, and I cannot even think being living without him. He has done everything for us, always looking after my mother, siblings and I. He is an exemplary father, whose taught me how to be an individual with values, and always helping out to those in need.
