Nala's Medical Expenses

Yesterday morning while I was in class, my two dogs ran out of the backyard because the gate was left open by one of our studio tenants. Both of the dogs got hit by a speeding car. Nala, my pitbull was injured and was quickly taken to an emergency vet. Nova, my small terrier mix was not so fortunate and passed away minutes after the impact. Bombarded with medical costs, I was only able to pay for Nala's pain medications and her emergency physical examination, but was unable to cover the costs for x-rays and 3 other crucial tests to check for internal damage. And although I would love to have back Nova's ashes in my possession, it is too overwhelming of a cost to cover both pets. I'm still trying to process what happened to Nova and I miss her dearly, but my priority at the moment is to ensure that the one dog I have alive survives. Nala is very special to me, and like any dog owner I can testify that she is my emotional rock that supports me through thick and thin. I may be having a bad day but when I take one look at Nala's face all my problems become insignifcant. And right now, I need to have Nala's back and ensure that she heals properly so she can continue to have a healthy life, even without her partner-in-crime beside her. I am extremely grateful for those who take the time to inform themselves about what happened, and any help is most appreciated. I find it difficult to ask for help during times of struggle, but right now I have to repay Nala for all the love she has provided me.
