My name is Monica Omorodion Swaida, As a teenager, I had the opportunity to go on tour with Majek Fashek in Africa and Abroad. I played on stage with Majek last in NYC. Majek was compared to the late Icon Bob Marley. He was one of the greatest singer and guitarist in Nigeria. He came to America and even went as far as singing in David Letterman's show. Majek put Nigeria on the map when it comes to music. Today, Majek is seen in the streets of Lagos looking for petty change to buy food and drinks. Majek looks sickly and fray. He is looking haggard! How can a national hero be left on the street like that? We must do something to take care of this man. No matter the problems majek has, whether  drugs related, Spiritual , or mental related problems, it doesn't matter. Everyone can be saved!  let's come together and help him.
The family of Majek just recently got their legal papers in America and can now travel. But they need your support. They can't do this alone. They have not been in Nigeria for over 20 years. But they want to help their dad now. I will personally go with the wife Rita Majek and the first Son Randy Majek to Nigeria to join others fighting for this cause to help Majek. Please fans all over the world, let us help save this legend while he is still alive. God bless those reading this. Amen!

But if you still feel uncomfortable using your cards, you can mail me your checks or whatever you have. I will give you a receipt and make sure you get an email confirmation of your money. Thanks to all those that have given. God reward you richly.

@Victor Teddy, where Majek is treated or rehabilitated does not really matter, what is more important is that he gets better qnd continue to do what he knows in doing best. However, I can authoritatively confirmed to you that the rehabilitation process will occur in Nigeria once there is enough fund to proceed.

The best thing we can do for our brother Majek Fashek is to support him when he is down because many of us benefited from his success wether directly or indirectly. However, there is something important I want to tell everyone here, perhaps Majek would have the opportunity to read my comment.Doctor can treat the body that is sick but the soul of a man no one on earth can treat. The only healer that can heal the soul of a man is Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.Tell him people that Jesus Christ loves him.He must accept Jesus Christ as his Lord(ruler of his life)and his saviour(because he shed his blood for him)There is no terrible condition that is impossible for God to repair.I love Majek and I've prayed many times for his recovery.God bless Majek Fashek.I love to make my donation can an account be opened here in Nigeria for that purpose?I very sure many people will donate to support his recovery.I will be expecting your reply so as to make my donation as soon as possible.

My advice is please dont send Majek to America were the drugs can still be smuggled into rehab centres, you can send him to Germany, they are among the very best in the world, I am saying this from personal experiece, for more details you can contact me, Been living since 1992 in Germany. I first met Majek b/w 1979 and 1980 at N,T,A, singing Bob-marley songs. He was such a great talent, We all new then, he was going to make it to the top., I cannot at the moment promise any immediate financial assistance, But you people want to send him to Germany, I can assist in the negotiations, My address- Peter-Schuster weg 2, 85716, unterschleisshem, near Munich, Germany.

A little crack, a little weed, a little drink, a little this and that. I grew to love his song especially "I've not come to destroy, Jah knows I've come to restore America" is one of his evergreen. I agree with the brotherman who said he should be taken care of in mental rehabilitation center in Nigeria. But it's a lesson for everyone. Stay away from addition.

So Majek's family lives in the US...and you want suffering Nigerians who has never had the opportunity to even get a US visa to contribute money to someone who left his country when things where fine with him only to become a junkie in New York? This is one of those internet jokes...right? Sorry Monica....Majek never put Nigeria on any map as it relates to music....and when you speak of heroes....We know our heroes in Nigeria...and Majek is not one of them....He is just a bad example of Nigerian public figures....I'm done........Now you can criticize me.

Thanks for this. .but please lets make sure this really goes for the cause..Majek Fashek is my mentor and close friend. I have been privileged to know him in recent years..all those rumors about cocain use are false. The media contributed to his shaky career amongst othet factors.. truth is Majek has come accross alot of wolves in sheep's clothing which make it difficult for him to trust people's intentions. I volunteer my self to be part of the team #bringbackmajek

This is Niki Tall aka. the Oyinbo Boy from Germany who fell in love with Nigerian-Music since 2008 !!! We the fresh generation of Musicians need to thank our previous Brothers & Sisters who built a ground and created a "plattform" for us to launch our music. Artists have started to look out for international collaborations in order to enhance their brand, which has allowed people to start to say that Afrobeat has gone international. Over 25 Years Ago Majek Fashek put Nigeria "Musically" on the map already so he deserves the respect and support. However, what he needs right now is HELP. Nobody is hot, famous, young and healthy forever so instead of investing a lot of money in a nice funeral, we should be there for one another while we´re still blessed to be alive. NIKI TALL SAY SO and Donate SO
