Leigh Anne's Legacy Playground

Leigh Anne has known me since I was born, and honestly, when I tell you that, it’s the truth. My mother has known Leigh Anne even before I was born and taught her during grade school. My mother and Leigh Anne became so close that Leigh Anne ended up becoming my most trusted babysitter. I have been extremely close with Leigh Anne ever since and love spending time with her. Leigh Anne is the most positive, giving, and hardest working mother I have ever met. Her biggest dream in life was to become a school teacher. She was able to successfully reach this goal and become one of the best educators and most loved teachers at any of the schools she worked. Her commitment, knowledge, and enthusiasm to teach is what all teachers should aspire to be. Leigh Anne has two wonderful children McKenna and Hayden and a loving, supportive husband, Matt. Five years ago she was told devastating news that she had breast cancer. Since diagnosis, she vowed to beat this horrible disease, which she did. She never gave up and continued to be an amazing mom through the struggles of chemotherapy. She spent the next several years becoming a champion for the cure for breast cancer. Fundraising, bake sales, marathons, all to help others. Just when she thought she entered the “safe zone,” she recently received news that cancer has spread to her bones. This nightmare would cause many women to hide away and give in. Not her. LeighAnne earned her wings on 2/12/18. She fought hard until the very end. She passed with her loving husband Matt by her side. The amount of love and support from family and friends was unbelievable. As heaven gained an angel, two beautiful children lost her mother. As an educator, her love for children and teaching was evident in her final wishes. She wants a playground built as a part of her legacy. This is what we will now continue to raise funds for. We can build this playground in honor of LeighAnne as a token of our massive amounts of love and respect for her and the life she has lived.
