Vet w Muscular Dystrophy needs help

Donation protected
Rex Farris is 74 and has Muscular Dystrophy. He is also a Veteran. I have been communicating with Rex for about 3 months now- and he has never complained. The following are his words:

"Up to now, I have never made one comment concerning my problems with Muscular Dystrophy  in the six years that my wife has been incarcerated. I keep my kitchen clean, but can no longer clean the house, and haven't for months because I can’t pay for help with only $1713 a month SS disability. I keep myself clean, but it’s very difficult because of the limited use of my arms.   I will eventually be wheelchair bound because my legs continue to weaken, and I can hardly get up and down out of a chair now. And because of the
possibility of falling, I only go out when I absolutely have to.  I cannot sleep in a bed - I prefer the recliner, which I have worm out and have trouble getting up from. A Lift chair would be a godsend as it would assist with me getting up and with sleeping.  Thank you so very much!"

Rex is no longer in his apartment. His heartless landlord evicted him rather than fixing the stairs so they would be safe for him. All that entailed was to install slip grips.  The landlord also got rid of his refrigerator, all his medications ( which the VA had to replace), his clothes, cellphone and misc. computer equipment. For the last month or so, he has been "motel hopping" while avidly looking for a safe, affordable place to live. It has been challenging to say the least - there are hardly any available places that he can afford close to where he would like to be.  The VA has been no help in placing him, even temporarily. We have contacted churches, and every place we can think of- with no success. Hard to believe this is happening in America, but it is and happens to so many, every day increasing the homeless population. We cannot allow this Veteran to remain homeless.  With his illness progressing, he deserves a place of his own to call home that is safe and affordable. If you can,  please help me to help Rex! Even sharing this fundraiser is helping!! Than you so much!
